Management philosophy

“PRISM”was established in November 2006 is a Drug Discovery company utilizing "Protein Secondary Structure Mimetic Library" (PRISM Library). Compounds have been discovered from this "PRISM Library" in modulating Intracellular Protein/Protein Interactions. These targets are well-known difficult targets even for pharmaceutical companies. Founding members of PRISM, having been involved in Drug Discovery Research at Asahi Kasei Pharma, have accumulated the optimization experience of "Protein Secondary Structure Mimetic" compounds during more than ten years collaboration (Optimaization Technology). The combination of hits from "PRISM Library" and the application of "Optimization Technology" is very powerful tool in developing new drugs for Protein/Protein Interaction.

PRISM's first successful application of optimization technology is the epoch-making anti-cancer drug CBP/Catenin inhibitor PRI-724. This new chemical entity, PRI-724, acts on both cancer cells and cancer stem cells that can switch from "proliferation" to "differentiation". Phase Ia/Ib clinical trials of the agent have been initiated by PRISM in the United States in March of 2011. PRI-724 is expected to provide a new therapeutic course of treatment for cancer and other diseases caused by homeostatic activation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.
